BiteCode Privacy Policy
BiteCode (“the App”) helps users scan food product barcodes and view ingredients, nutrition information, and a personal suitability score based on preferences stored on the device.
1. Data we process
- On your device only: sensitivity/allergen profile, scan history, and favorites (local storage). These are not uploaded to our servers for account login — the App does not require creating an account.
- Camera: used only to scan barcodes. The live camera feed is processed on the device and is not stored or uploaded by us.
- Product lookups: scanned barcodes may be queried against Open Food Facts and/or our product cache (Supabase) to retrieve publicly available product information.
- Manual product submissions: if you add missing product details, that information may be stored in our database to improve availability for other users.
2. Advertising
The App shows ads via Google AdMob. Google may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data according to Google’s policies to serve and measure ads. See Google Privacy Policy and AdMob documentation.

5. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the App if you are under the minimum age required in your country.
